Aral Ölbindemittel is an environmentally friendly non-flammable mineral granulate with a base of hydrate calcium silicate. It offers extraordinarily strong absorption properties (oil binder type III R with a grit size of less than 0.125 mm <4%). Aral Ölbindemittel absorbs and removes oils, fuels, lubricants and liquid chemicals from hard surfaces. The package size of 30 liters (approx. 16 kg) binds approximately 13 liters of heating oil EL. Aral Ölbindemittel also binds polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB), solvents, lyes and weak acids, and neutralizes them within limits. The reaction speed depends on the type and concentration of the acid. Smaller fires of oils and solvents can be contained and extinguished. This product does not contain asbestos or other carcinogenic asbestos-like fibres. Aral Ölbindemittel is essential for safe handling of oil and dangerous materials in the workplace. It is used successfully by fire departments for oil accidents on public roadways and railroads, leaks on hard surfaces, in industry, and for tank cleaning. Aral Ölbindemittel is sprinkled in 3 – 5-mm thick layers on the liquids to be removed. After a short period the binder can be swept up. The use of protective gloves is recommended. For disposal please follow the regulations and procedures prescribed for the bound material. Aral Ölbindemittel can be stored indefinitely under suitable conditions.
